THE MARK OF CHANGE

Jan 19, 2025 | Vision Foundation Series

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away;behold, all things are become new. ~ 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV

SUMMARY: This week’s message in the “Foundation” series, titled “The Mark of Change,” focuses on the radical transformation that occurs when one is truly in Christ. It unpacks what this transformation looks like in the life of the believer. When someone accepts Christ, they don’t just change habits; they experience a full spiritual rebirth that reshapes identity, values, behavior, and purpose. This is the visible mark of real change, powered by God’s grace.

The message highlights seven (7) powerful changes that reflect the transformative power of God in the life of the believer:

  • New Creation in Christ (Verse 17)
      1. A complete transformation of identity and purpose, becoming a new creation in Christ.
  • Reconciliation with God (Verses 18-19)
      1. Through Christ, we are restored to God, bringing peace and healing to the broken relationship.
  • Ministry of Reconciliation (Verses 18-20)
      1. Believers are called to share the message of reconciliation, becoming ambassadors for Christ.
  • No Longer Living for Oneself (Verse 15)
      1. A shift from self-centered living to living for Christ and His purposes, changing priorities and values.
  • Eternal Perspective (Verses 1-10)
      1. Believers focus on eternal promises, prioritizing heavenly rewards over temporary earthly concerns.
  • Living by Faith, Not by Sight (Verse 7)
      1. A life guided by faith in God’s promises, not by visible circumstances.
  • The Fear of the Lord (Verse 11)
    1. A deep reverence for God, shaping actions and decisions to align with His will.

Supporting Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 3:11; 2 Corinthians 5:1–11, 15, 17–20

Affirmation: I am a new creation in Christ Jesus, reconciled to God, and empowered to live by faith, not by sight. My life reflects His love and purpose, and I embrace the eternal promises He has for me.
