Overview: "The Mark of Change" Notes
This is the third week of our January series on “Foundation.” Scripture emphasizes that Jesus Christ is the only true foundation (1 Corinthians 3:11). Last week, we discussed God’s divine solution through Christ; today, we explore “The Mark of Change” (2 Corinthians 5:17) and the transformation that occurs when one becomes a follower of Christ.
The Transformation in Christ
When we accept Christ, a profound shift takes place:
- Spiritual Rebirth – The old self is replaced with a new identity in Christ.
- Shifts in Identity, Values, and Behavior – This transformation reflects a new life and purpose.
Seven Key Changes in a Believer’s Life:
- New Creation in Christ – A complete renewal of identity and purpose.
- Reconciliation with God – Restores our relationship with Him.
- Ministry of Reconciliation – Believers become ambassadors for Christ.
- No Longer Living for Oneself – A shift from self-centered living to Christ-centered purpose.
- Eternal Perspective – Focus on heavenly rewards over earthly concerns.
- Living by Faith, Not by Sight – Trusting in God beyond visible circumstances.
- The Fear of the Lord – A deep reverence guiding actions and decisions.
Call to Action:
- For Believers: Embrace the transformation in Christ, live as His ambassadors, and walk by faith with an eternal perspective.
- For Non-Believers: Consider the life-changing power of Christ—a renewal of identity, purpose, and peace through Him.
Let us reflect on this transformation and pray for God’s guidance.
